III Recreación Histórica De Los Tercios Españoles

This past weekend, both the residents of Jaca and its visitors were able to enjoy the 3rd International Historical Reenactment of the Spanish Thirds.

The following reenactment associations participated in the event, which took place in the emblematic fortress of the Castle of San Pedro, with the participation of around 100 reenactors from all over Spain and some representatives from the United States. The list of participating associations was as follows:

-Old Trade of Cartagena.

-Gentes de Subporta

-AC Urrea

-AECCSO-La Camarada

-Yecla Siglo de Oro

-Tercio Mondragón y Mercado

-ARH Batalla de Vitoria

-Acus Verum

-Mesnadas and Tercios of Aragon

-Tercio de Castilla

-Battle Honours

There was also the participation of reenactors who registered as independents, joining in the organisation and development of the events.

The number of visitors exceeded a thousand people who stoically endured the long queues that formed, due to the great welcome and interest that the re-enactments arouse in Jaca, and which delighted the youngest visitors. At the same time, the adults enjoyed the magnificent talks and demonstrations of both training and combat carried out in the parade ground of the Citadel.

This is an activity to implement the support that this Consortium gives to all cultural activities and in this case to history, and which has not entailed any additional cost to the public visiting the Castle.
