PRESS RELEASE: THE SPANISH TERCIOS IN THE CITADEL OF JACA
During the weekend of 11 and 12 May, a ‘living museum’ set in the Spanish Tercios will be offered in the Citadel, through the installation of a camp recreated by several recreationist associations.
There will be different educational talks related to the evolution, construction and treatment of linen accessories in the 16th century; the clothing and equipment of the soldiers of the Tercios; swords and fencing; and fortification tasks.
There will be some exhibitions of instruction and training, as well as combat with the use of gunpowder and barrier tournaments between soldiers.
The opening hours will be the usual ones at the Citadel (from 10:30 to 13:30) and from 16:00 to 20:00). During this weekend guided tours will be limited and the price to enjoy this event, as well as the rest of the permanent and temporary attractions of the Castle's rooms, will be the same as always.
This is a unique opportunity for everyone, but especially for those subscribers who have the annual Friends of the Citadel pass.
