Sam y Frodo Cuidadela de Jaca

Since last weekend, Frodo and Sam have been back at the Citadel to spend the summer with us.
"One of the objectives of the global sustainability project being developed at the Citadel Castle in Jaca is to reduce and minimise the environmental impact and reduce the carbon footprint.
In a pioneering and exemplary project in Spain, we control the grass in the non-visitable area of the castle with these two ponies (Frodo and Sam), avoiding mechanical mowing, we do not produce so many emissions to nature, it is not necessary to use fertilizers thanks to the contribution of manure and there is no control with herbicides.

Frodo and Sam are two Shetland ponies from the North West of Scotland.
Both are part of the team of therapeutic animals that participate in the social programmes of Animal Assisted Therapies, for people with functional diversity or special needs, carried out by the ASCEAL Association".
