Refugi El Cabirol

Yesterday I visited the El Cabirol shelter, in the town of solanel. It is true that I did not know this town and I have covered many kilometers in the destination, that is why I like the Pyrenees so much and you always discover a new place. To go to the refuge you have to go towards the Nordic station of Sant Joan de l'Erm at the exit of the town of Castellbó, on your right there is a small bridge that will take you to the town, the road is dirt and it is fine, It is true that if you come across a car, it passes right by, but it is not a town inhabited by many people.

After four kilometers more or less you will reach the town that has renovated a part where you will find the shelter of my friend Pere, an architect from Barcelona who He moved to the town years ago to manage his refuge where the decoration and the views are incredible, it is also a perfect place to walk and enjoy the tranquility. Pere, who knows the area very well, will advise you, there is a bathing area located a little further down. In the upper area of the town there is a Romanesque church that recently found relics of paintings inside. I like this quiet and authentic town, a real discovery to share the passion for the Pyrenees.

Ah, Pere cooks delicious homemade food.
I advise you to visit our friend!!!...
