Mair de Diu Deth Rosèr d'Es Bòrdes
The current parish church was built in 1806 and until 1810 it was paid for by the parish of Benós. The temple has a single nave, covered with a ridge vault and a large chancel formed by semicircular arches supported by columns with a wide shaft. The bell tower is square. The shots from the battle that took place in this village on 19th October 1944 between the Maquis of the 410th Brigade under the command of Joaquin Ramos and the forces of the 42nd Division of the Urgel Mountain Hunters and the Carabinieri garrison under the command of Lieutenant Andrés Rivaldulla can still be seen here.
On the façade of the church on the outside wall, next to the entrance door, there is a curious sculptured funerary slab, perhaps the lid of a small sarcophagus measuring 1.25m long and 37cm wide. This piece, which was recovered from the castle, represents a figure in bas-relief of a young warrior lying down, wearing a coat and sword and in a praying position. It is probably the image of the son of a Castilian named Esteban Merriano. At the foot of the warrior is a half-rampant figure of a heraldic lion crowned by a kind of crenellated castle, a clear allusion to and symbolism of the stone's place of origin. Framing the figure of the child warrior and finishing off the four sides of the slab, we find a legend with Gothic characters.
