The sanctuary was built on a site called “Falgars” (place of many ferns), and a stone with the date 1049 is preserved above the door of the present church. In 1120, the owners, Ramon and Eliardis, gave the original church to the monastery of Sant Llorenç, in Guardiola, on the condition that it would be looked after.
On 19 March 1646, the foundation stone of the current church was laid. In 1721, the Marquis of Cerdanyola ceded the gardens and some grounds around the chapel to the administrators of Falgars. In 1739 the high altar was built. In 1790 the choir was begun, painted in 1824 in the style in
