The refuge is located on the Coll de Port, at the viewpoint of the same name. It is located at the roadside, on the road that connects the municipalities of Sant Llorenç de Morunys, la Coma i la Pedra, and Tuixent.
Just in front of the refuge begins the 4km road that goes up to the Tuixent-la Vansa Nordic ski resort.
