The church's interior was decorated under the direction of Pierre Minvielle, a sculptor and gilder from Bagnères de Bigorre. Numerous alterations have been made over the years.
In 1844, a monumental portal was opened in the bell tower, based on a plan by the surveyor Verdier d'Arreau.
The church houses a splendid 16th-century Pieta. It was on the reliquary arm of Saint Exupère that the Consuls and Syndics of the Vallée d'Aure took their oath every year.
