The Lac du Caramany is located in the communes of Caramany, Cassagnes, Ansignan and Trilla.
It is an artificial body of water created by the dam on the River Agly, owned by the Conseil Général des Pyrénées Orientales.
Work began on the dam in 1989, and it was impounded in 1994. Since 2015, the dam has been generating hydroelectric power.
