The starting point is the Castellar bridge, near the Arcalís Ski Resort, a few steps from the Cabana del Castellar. This is a mountain hut located at an altitude of 1,867 m on the right bank of the Tristaina river.
The path runs parallel to the dry stone wall until we reach the Comís Vell river. We gain height as we follow the river, until we find a first wooden bridge, which we do not cross as we continue to climb until we reach a second bridge and a lovely waterfall.
We cross the wooden bridge, and in a few steps higher there is another smaller waterfall. Then we move away from the river, leaving behind the black pine forest, and gain height until we reach an esplanade, a few metres away at the crossroads of the Esbalçat trail.
The path to Esbalçat Lake continues in a northerly direction for a hundred metres, then turns left and we make a large diagonal under the rock. Before reaching the lake, the path will be marked by a steep slope, twisting and turning until we will reach the lonely lake of Esbalçat.
We return the same way.
