With the parish festival, every year Escaldes-Engordany commemorates 14 June 1978, the day on which it separated from Andorra la Vella and became the seventh Andorran parish. To commemorate this day, different festive activities are organised throughout the day, as well as a massive popular arrossada for more than 2,000 people.
